Hot Stone, Deep Tissue or Full Body Massage? What Is the Difference?

Hot Stone Massage at Serenity Spa Zante, Zakynthos

Guests often ask us which massage is “best”. The honest answer is that it depends on the pressure you like and what your body needs. Here is how our three most requested massages differ.

Full body massage — the classic

A full body massage uses classic techniques with warm oil and medium pressure. It relaxes the whole body and is the safest choice if you are new to massage. 60 minutes, €50.

Deep tissue massage — firmer pressure

Deep tissue massage is similar to classic massage but works on the deepest layers of muscle tissue and tendons with slower, firmer pressure. It suits chronic muscle tension. It should feel intense but never painful — always tell your therapist if the pressure is too much. 60 minutes, €75.

Hot stone massage — warmth and calm

In a hot stone massage, smooth heated stones are placed on the body and used with classic strokes. The warmth helps muscles relax and gives a slow, deeply calming feeling. 60 minutes, €55.

Quick comparison

  • Gentle and calming: hot stone or anti-stress massage
  • Balanced: full body massage
  • Firm: deep tissue massage

Which should you choose?

If you want pure relaxation, choose hot stone. If you want a complete body treatment, choose full body. If you carry tension in your shoulders and back and like firm pressure, choose deep tissue. Not sure? Ask us on WhatsApp +30 697 060 0520 or send a message.
